I am heading to San Jose this weekend and will spend 5 days at Cisco’s Headquarters. I will meet four other people that placed in top 5 of Cisco Netriders Challenge and I also hope to have the chance to meet with some engineers from Cisco. To be honest, I do not want to expect, but I am really looking forward to my trip. After that, I will head to Atlanta for a week at my aunt’s and uncle’s house in Georgia. Can’t wait to see them. I will do my best to do as many labs as I can while I am in the US because I am in the final weeks of my CCIE lab preparation. In case I don’t have that much time, I will probably do volume 3 of Internetwork Expert. Otherwise, I will be doing the mock labs, have to finish two more labs from IPExpert, and I might start watching the Catalyst QoS videos from Netmaster again as there were too few tasks in the workbooks up to now.
I rarely write about concerts and parties in my blog since I recently do not have that much time, but last Friday was a night to remember. Two weeks ago I went to the gig of one of my favourite producers Markus Schulz. I am big admirer of his work and he is the person that got me into trance, for which I am very grateful. I went to the party with a friend of mine, who also likes electronic music. As far as the organisation, everything was perfect except the fact that the preliminary stated length of the gig was 5 hours and the actual one was only 3. There were some great songs in Markus’ set, but unfortunately I missed the greatest ones – Big Sky, Daydream, etc, because my friend wanted to go home. I am very mad at myself. Anyway, the whole set could have been better although I expected Markus would play more moody trance as he usually does. However, may because the hosts were Yalta Club or because of other reasons, there was too much housy and techno stuff that I did not like very much. It is just not my kind of music, you know :). By the way, huge thanks should go to Veselin Tasev, the supporting DJ, who performed very well and his set was very good. I maybe liked it even a bit more than Markus’ one.
Anyway, it was November 14th, 2008, when Ronski Speed had a gig at Club Escape. This was my first visit of this club and I liked it apart from the so-called “mutras” (that’s what we call criminals dealing with drugs and such) and their bitches, who were constantly pushing us away when they had to go somewhere.
Veselin Tasev was again the supporting DJ and his set was absolutely amazing! He was much more relaxed than in Yalta and made one hell of a party! Then, around 1:00 am, Ronski Speed appeared on the decks and really blew my mind away. He played almost all of my favourite trance tracks in the last 5-6 years. Cafe del Mar (Three’N'One remix) Greece 2000 (Chris Reece Remix) [Sirup], Let Go, In & Out of Love (Richard Durand Remix), Back to You (Aly & Fila remix), For an Angel, Perfect, Your Own Way, Daydream, Stranger in Paradise, In the Dark, Out of the Sky, New York City were only some of the songs that made me wanna touch the ceiling of Escape :) I had only once been that happy before and this was when Liverpool won the Champions League in 2005. В началото на тази година най-накрая се реших да прослушам новия албум на Paul van Dyk – In Between. Има някои наистина велики парчета в него, но това, което ми хареса най-много, е Let Go, featuring Rea Garvey, Alex M.O.R.P.H’s remix.
At the beginning of this year, I finally decided to listen to the latest Paul van Dyk’s album called In Between. I have to say it includes some great tracks, but the one that most impressed me is Let Go, where Paul is featuring Rea Garvey, especially Alex M.O.R.P.H’s remix.

След огромния, смея да кажа, успех на миналия му албум Another Day on the Terrace, използвайки името Sunlounger, този го поставя сред едни от най-добрите trance producer-и. Характерно е за него, както той казва, музика преплитаща summer balearic sounds, акустична китара, цигулка и невероятния глас на певици като Adrina Thrope – цялото това нещо създава едни от най-добрите trance и ambient парчета.

The new album of DJ Shah is marvellous. After his huge success of his previous album, Another Day on the Terrace, using the artist name of Sunlounger, he is definitely amongst the best trance producers in the field. As he says, balearic summer sounds, acoustic guitar, violin and the beautiful voice of singers like Adrina Thorpe – this whole thing becomes one of the best trance and ambient tracks.

Не мога да се накефя на това велико парче на Elevation! Чух го за пръв път на A State of Trance преди около 8-9 месеца може би и оттoгава насам ми стои в топ 10 uplifting tracks.
I haven’t listed to the whole eposide yet, but I heard the first 4 hours of it and there were some incredible tracks. One of the is the amazing remix of Who Will Find Me by DJ Shah feat. Adrina Thorpe on A State of Trance 350. It’s marvellous!

Страхотна новина – трупата на Lord of the Dance отново ще идва в България на 3-ти юни, 2008г. Бях на миналия им концерт през 2002 г. и въпреки че самият Майкъл Флетлий не участваше в спектакъла, беше невероятно представление. Почитател съм на ирладската музика, откакто се помня и със сигурност няма да пропусна събитието. Цените на билетите се движат от 30-100 лв., като ще има 2 представления на 3-ти, едно от 17:30 и едно от 21:00. Между другото, това лято се очертават няколко страхотни концерта да посетя, сред които този на Mark Knopfler и Whitesnake и Def Leppard.
Днес бях много приятно изненадан – разбрах, че един български DJ, живеещ в щатите, е много известен и прави наистина добра музика. Името му е Стан Колев и живее в Маями. Както продуцира различни денс парчета, така и пуска в големи клубове в САЩ различни ремикси на известни парчета от електронната музика. Имах възможност да преслушам малка част от неговите неща и останах впечатлен. Тук се намира неговият сайт, а тук можете да видите интервю с него, направено от ad3v.tv.
